Across April the Trans AMs rocked New South Wales with events in Bathurst and Sydney! TradiePad was excited to finally get to the track to catch all the muscle car action live and boy, didn’t Tim Brook bring the goods! Here’s a little wrap-up of everything that went down for those who missed it.
Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour – Mount Panorama, Bathurst – April 2-4
We kicked off the racing festivities with an instore at Reece Bathurst branch, chatting with locals about apps for tradies and showing off our sweet new wrap on the TradiePad wheels – kudos to Creative Signworx for the new look! Feeling generous we gave away 2x double passes to the races to a couple of lucky tradies to come and join us at the track that weekend. Shoutout to Reece Bathurst branch manager Adam for hosting us and putting on a cracking bbq brekky for everyone who dropped in to see us.
And then the action started. In qualifying a rod end snapped, eliminating Tim’s steering and sending him through the kitty litter to kiss the wall on the turn into Mcphillamy, a very lucky escape on the top of the mountain. The red flag came out and Penny limped back into the pits. So grateful for the amazing TB pit crew who worked through the night to get her back on the track for race 1.
Lucky for the team they went off practice times for the racing order of race 1, so Tim kicked off in P4. He maintained that position in Race 2 before sneaking into 3rd place for a podium finish in race 3! Seriously exciting racing to watch and the whole extended TB support crew were beside themselves celebrating our first trophy for the series!
Shannons Motorsport Australia Championship – Sydney Motorsport Park – April 30 – May 2
We kicked off the week at Reece Pemulwuy for a BBQ breaky for all the local tradies, we even managed to get Tim and Penny there thanks to our awesome clients GRS Towing! Penny is a classic yank tank, low and wide so getting her on the trailer was quite the handful, big thanks for your expertise and experience GRS! During the morning another lucky tradie scored themselves a double pass to the races and we were all pumped for what Round 4 would hold.
Qualifying was a new experience for all, happening after sundown and under lights! Unfortunately, the red flag came out again as Tim entered the straight deleting his fastest lap and pushing him back into P5 starting position for Race 1. The next start was good until Penny picked up a misfire early into race 1, Tim was able to finish but it cost us dearly as he dropped back down into P18. Once again the amazing TB pit crew came to the rescue, sorted out the issue before the next race.
