NSW Electric Vehicle Charging Grants

If you are a licensed electrical contractor in NSW here is something that you can promote to potential clients! The NSW Government has announced that they will invest $20 million to help regional NSW destinations to purchase and install EV Chargers.

The Drive Electric NSW EV destination charging grants aim to increase the number of EV charging stations across NSW, encouraging the uptake of electric vehicles by 52% by 2030 and reducing carbon emissions. The $20 Million investment will enable the co-funded purchase and installation of approximately 3500 electric vehicle (EV) chargers for NSW businesses over the next couple of years.

The Electric Vehicle Council has partnered with the NSW government to provide a list of approved AC EV chargers and EV charger software that is eligible for funding under the grants. This list will be updated on a six monthly basis with new suppliers.

Regional NSW businesses on designated ‘EV Tourist Routes’ such as cafes, restaurants, wineries, and motels can apply for the grant from Monday 23rd May. $7 million will be allocated to round one with applications open until Friday 23rd September. Future rounds will be announced soon with the scheme planned to run through to 2024, supplying a steady influx of work for electricians across NSW.
